Notaries don't notarize documents. They notarize signatures.
So long as the signature occurs in the presence of the notary in the state by which the notary is licensed, they may notarize the signature.

∙ 13y agoYes - provided the witness (and all other parties involved) understand the language of the written document. If not, it could be argued in court that the document is inadmissible due to the absence of understanding the written words.

∙ 12y agoA notary does not notarize the contents of a document. It's only the signature to the document that gets notarized.
So long as the signor shows proper ID and signs the document in front of the notary, the notary can notarize the signature. The contents of the document are irrelevant.
