No. They have similar effects on the bowel but work in very different ways and and are not chemically related. Imodium makes everything 100 times worse: the diarrhea, stomach cramps, then add vomiting. The only thing I can take for pain is Demerol, because it is 100% synthetic, so be careful with Imodium even though it's over the counter. I assume everyone is different. Ree Medical Office Manager

There are different types of anti-infammatory medications. There are steroids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs). Cortisone is a steroid. Ibuprofen and Naproxen are types of NSAIDs. You need to know exactly what type of anti-inflammatory medication you are allergic to.

Yes you can....I have used Imodium at high doses while getting off percs. I did happen to go on a bender one night while doing the Imodium detox and was perfectly fine.
