Yes, it can, this is fairly common. Just use a PVC reducer to connect.

Yes. If it's PVC, just go to the local HW store and buy the adapter components required, primer and glue. The pressure will be fine, what do you have to lose to try it assuming you already have the pump?

The connection on top is from the filter inlet (discharge of the pump). The connection on the opposite side of this one is the filter outlet back to the pool. The connection below the filter inlet is for backwashing the filter.

They use to have an adapter that would go from the hose to the inlet side of the pool which in turn went to the pump, most above ground pool use flex hose from the skimmer basket of the pool to the pump, you may just have to put a tee fitting in from the inlet side of the pool and add another inlet just so that you can vacuum, and cap this when you are finished vacuuming, this would be on the outside of the pool this would be added anywhere from the pump back to the pool on the inlet side.

You must purge the air out of the line that sucks the water out of your pool(inlet to pump side).This is usally done by opening a bleeder valve on top of the filter cover. #1 Shut inlet and outlet valve to pool. #2 Clean or change filter and re-install lid. #3 Open pool line valve on inlet to pump side. #4 Open bleeder valve on top of pump until only water comes out,then close bleeder valve. #5 Open pool valve from (pump to pool side) outlet to pool side. #6 Turn pump back on. Running your pump without water for more than a few seconds can damage or burn up your pump.

Sure you can but make sure you install valves on the the inlet before the pump and on the outlet after the pump. So if ever you need to do any maintenance you can close off the valves to stop water running out.

Sometimes they are located just off the deep end of the pool at the edge of the deck straight back from the pool light if your pool has a light. However these fixtures do not have any access to an outlet. It is usually just a GFCI fixture. GFCI's can sometimes be found in shrubbery surrounding the pool. You just have to hunt for it in those locations. And there are the instances where no GFCI is provided. There may also be a GFCI in the circuit breaker box but this one will not have an outlet. What is your need for an outlet? If you have a pool light that does not have a GFCI in the system you then need to call a qualified swimming pool electrician or a qualified pool tech to install one.
