Yes, they are welcome, though if they want to become Catholic they have to go through this whole system. If they just want to come to Mass, they just aren't allowed to receive Holy Communion.

Yes, a Catholic child should be baptized in a Catholic church.

Can a Protestant take a blessing during Mass in a Catholic Church?

During a Nuptial between a Catholic and non-Catholic, the Officiant [Priest or Deacon] blesses the couple. During the baptism of a child, the Officiant [Priest or Deacon] blesses the mother, father and godparents of the child as well as all assembled. If I can bless a car, why not a Protestant? My mother is Protestant! Rev. Robert J. Sweeney, www.holyrosary-ny.com

If one parent is divorced and has a child can the child be baptized in the catholic church?

Yes, IF there is a well-founded hope that the child will be raised in the Catholic faith and you can convince your parish priest of this. You will need to receive instruction before this can happen, talk with your priest.

Can you christen your baby Catholic if you or your partner are not?

Catholics are Christians. So any baby baptised in a Catholic Church is being baptised as a Christian. If you want your baby to be a Protestant, another type of Christian, then you would not have them baptised in a Catholic church.

Will a school with strong Anglo-Catholic tradition accept your child if neither she or you are Catholic?

Roman Catholic AnswerIf a school as strong Anglo-Catholic traditions, this means that it is High Church Anglican or Episcopalian; in other words, it is a protestant school with some Catholic traditions. I see no reason why they would not accept your child if you are willing to go along with their rules. Please note, however, that it is not a Catholic school.

I am a catholic my wife is C of E What is the best solution to our child's baptism or christening without disreguarding either church?

You cannot baptize your child in the Roman Catholic Church if you were not married in it. So you need to go with the other option. The child can only be named as a Roman Catholic if he/ she is baptised in a Catholic Church.

What did Henry VIII do when he was uable to get divorce under catholic church law?

King Henry VIII was married at this time. As most people know, in a monarchy, the King must have an heir to the throne in order to keep his family in power. Henry VIII's wife was unable to have a child, and there was another woman he was in love with. Since he was forbidden under Catholic law to divorce, he broke away from the Catholic church and formed the Anglican Church, or the Church of England. Other pilgrims who had broken from the Roman Catholic Church to form other Protestant branches of Christianity journeyed to the New World (America) seeking religious freedom. That is how the Protestant religions were made.
