I just got a small pumpkin and it was sitting in my house. A few days later I was sitting near it and the thing just exploded all over the place! I have no idea WHY or HOW this occurred, but I assure you the pumpkins can in fact EXPLODE!
Can anyone tell me WHY this may have happened?
yes. The reason they don't catch on fire is because its damp on the inside.
I honestly don't think it can, but it might melt.
yes any thing can be burned exept fire proof stuff
They can if they are attacked by mold, especially when wet. Ripe pumpkins may stay fresh for weeks in cool weather, or rapidly go overripe and moldy.
