I personally think they can. Let me explain my opinion. Ok so when I was 2, I had a really crazy siezure. I was on the floor shaking, my eyes were pure white because they were rolled all the way back. Pretty much everything that a crazy siezure is. Now in my teens and I can't remember a lot. I can read something like 10 times and when I put it down I can't remember the 3rd word. And in school when I used to be called out to read, I would always hesitate and end up shaking. I can read, and I don't stutter. But I had the feeling like I was about to say everything wrong because I forget what I'm reading. And when I'm at home and I get bored I get a movie and put it in. When I go to sit down and wait for it to start playing, I forget what I put in the DVD or VCR player. It's crazy. I'd say I have a short term memory loss from over 10 years ago( my siezure)
It can cause confusion in the short term. But it would not cause long term memory loss, unless there was some type of brain damage.
Memory loss can be caused by many things including head trauma, dementia, medications, malnutrition and sleep deprivation. The effects can be short-term or long-term.
It depends upon whether they hit their head or not. A bump to the head can cause memory loss. Another cause of memory loss is stress or anxiety.
Yes. Long-term addiction can cause memory loss. Google "memory loss" and "opiates." But opiates can also cause anterograde amnesia or temporary short-term memory loss. If one ingests to much of an opiate the can enter a semi-conscious state where they are awake but incomprehensible. At this point they will not for memories. This effect is temporary but the user will never recover the memories lost while he was under the influence of said opiate.
i am not sure but i don't think so cause if it where then there would be a large population of memory loss people that are young and old
It can be long term memory loss or retrograde memory loss. In either case it can be called amnesia.

Marijuana really isin't as bad as people make it out to be. If it is used in regulation, it can cause short term memory loss and bronchitis. It can sometimes cause brain and memory damage, but only if you smoke a LOT.
Amnesia, but Dementia and Alzheimer's also cause loss of memory.
Here you are more likely to suffer from mood swings then loss of memory.
