Not that i know of, if you stand on it then you kill it. The shell is there to protect it's vital organs. If they are exposed then it dyes. This is why they never switch shells. They grow their shells around themselves while they are getting bigger.

I don't think so,maybe it will grow back.But I think it won't be able to repair it shell.Maybe if you see a snail you can study it more and find out the answer yourself:)
