No, the starter has nothing to do with the engine overheating. Possible causes are.

  • Low of coolant
  • Thermostat stuck closed
  • Cooling fan not working
  • Blown head gasket (very serious, stop driving the car)
  • Clogged radiator

If your car has starting problems it could be that your starter motor is scewed! So maybe you should get a new starter motor or even better get a new car! the problem is that your starter is heating up , possibly because the exahaust manifold is located very close to the starter. let the car cool down, spray water on the starter, (cool water), or to prevent the problem, insulate the starter with a heat wrap or heat shield to prevent the starter from overheating and not working.also dude u need to check coolant level..it mite have reached very low due to wiz problm is occurring in ur car
