As far as I know, there is no such crime as "verbal assault" - under the First Amendment, it's virtually impossible to criminalize mere words, with very few (and very limited in scope) exceptions.
A student might have a civil cause of action for intentional infliction of emotional distress, if the student can show:
1. The defendant intended to cause extreme emotional distress
2. The defendant engaged in "extreme and outrageous conduct" (usually, a single remark will not meet this standard - it must be something extremely derogatory, or a course of conduct taking place over a long period of time)
3. The plaintiff actually suffered extreme emotional distress
4. The teacher's conduct was the cause of that emotional distress
Why be in such a hurry to sue? Is cash going to make you feel better, or are you just looking for a payday? If a teacher really "verbally abused" you, go to the principal. If he doesn't handle it to your satisfaction then go to the board of education. Your goal should be to try to make the situation better - not to "get paid" because someone said something you didn't like.
Harangue means to verbally abuse someone, to nag relentlessly.Don't harangue him because of one bad grade. My teacher is going to harangue me because I forgot my homework again.
It depends on who, where, and when. As a teacher, if someone verbally threatens me with bodily harm I press charges. A juvenile will receive less of a punishment than an adult but depending on state's laws anywhere from a warning to jail time.
You can't. They can get charged and lose their job.

The main character, Kale, gets an ankle bracelet for assaulting his Spanish teacher. This leads to him being put on house arrest and sets off the events of the movie "Disturbia."
Of course not ! The teacher has every right to verbally scold you for something you did wrong. If you were paying attention - you wouldn't have been singled out for scolding ! Teachers have a tough job controlling a classroom - it's up to you to concentrate on you lessons !
A music teacher is someone that teaches you how to sing or play an instrument.
A teacher is an educator, tutor or instructor, someone who teaches
A lot! You will probably get expelled and depending on how hard you punch the teacher you might even be charged with a battery and go to jail.
... is someone who teaches you about religion.
