I doubt it very much as electronics in the car are changed every year.
You will need to remove the 1998 Chevy Camaro brake light wiring harness. Remove the brake light retaining screws. Reverse the process to install the new brake light.
You will need to remove the retaining ring from the top of your 1997 Chevy Camaro ignition switch. The ignition switch will slide out. Remove the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install the new ignition switch.

Go to autozone.com. They have wiring harness diagrams for free download for most vehicles. If found all wiring diagrams for my 88 Silverado.
If the motor is the same the wiring harness should fit. Only thing I would check is the sending units. As long as both vehicles have gauges or both have warning lights all should be fine.
It will fit right in there if you know what you are doing. But you will have to add a computer, fuel pump and some wiring harness to make that engine run.
