The simple answer is "yes". I know of someone who started in her early twenties. As a result she had to have children very quickly. Her problem was a genetic one.

Early onset menopause is often confused with premature menopause, but actually the two are different things. These terms hinge on the age of the woman involved; if menopause occurs before the age of 45, it is considered early menopause; if menopause occurs before the age of 40 it is considered premature menopause.

I would suggest seeing a specialist in this area. Otherwise you will get some very conflicting answers. A lot of the literature available tends to blame environment and the individuals behaviour.

  • It is more likely to start from the age of 48 to 54 years of age.
  • However, you can certainly still be experiencing menopause symptoms, such as hot flashes, at 62 and into your seventies.
  • It is not common to begin menopause at 62, but certainly possible. The funny thing about menopause is that it is different for every woman. However, the symptoms you might be experiencing could have nothing to do with menopause and might be a sign of something else. I would suggest talking to you doctor and see what's going on.
  • Yes menopause symtomps can occur after age of 62. You can avoid it by opting for menopause supplements which alleviates these symptoms and can help youin living better life.

Yes, a woman can enter peri-menopause a full 7 years before her periods cease. During peri-menopause, hormones begin to decrease. Periods can be lighter or irregular. However, women between 35 and late 40s CAN still become pregnant! So it's important to continue using Birth Control even while you notice changes in your monthly cycles.

When your periods have completely ceased for 6 months, you can be sure you have entered menopause.

You may have menopausal symptoms, particularly, hot flashes. Some women have few menopausal

symptoms.

Menopause can also occur after removal of both ovaries (surgical menopause).

Note: Men over 40 can also go through andropause.

Menopause usually starts between 50-60, but studies are showing that women are starting menopause earlier in life due to foods that they eat.

What age can you go through the change of life?

Most women go through menopause between the ages of 45 and 55, with the average age being 51. However, menopause can occur earlier (before 40) in some cases, referred to as premature menopause. The transition period leading up to menopause is called perimenopause.

When does menopause occur?

On average, menopause occurs at 51 years of age. This is only an average, and many women go through menopause earlier or later than that. It can occur anywhere between 40 and 60 years of age. If it is earlier than 40, then it is considered early menopause. Some women go through menopause because of surgery or because it's chemically induced. Women who smoke tend to go through menopause a little earlier than others. Menopause is said to occur after 12 consecutive months with no period.
