One of the side effects of amoxicillin is peeling / loss of skin, so i wouldn't doubt that amoxicillin is whats causing your problem.
I recommend looking at this web page on the side effects and telling your doctor if conditions get worse. (see link)

Amoxcilin is an antibiotic...antibiotics can cause side effects, but it could be something else... its hard to be sure untill you see a doctor.
