Orthodox Jews don't, but the other groups might.

In ancient times, it was considered "bad luck" to even mention the baby's name for the possibility it might not survive after birth. The same rule could have applied to Jewish marriages as well. That's why Jews go shopping AFTER weddings and births.

For the same reason they won't mention their choice of baby names until AFTER the baby's birth - it's considered bad luck to them! Orthodox Jews won't even PREPARE the baby's bedroom until AFTER the baby's birth because of the possibility of the baby not surviving!
