An egg doesn't turn into an ovary. The ovary is the area from which the egg is released during ovulation.
Its something to do with pollen going down the style into the ovary to be germinated. It is also a place where the egg or the ovule devolops.

the ovary does not become fertilized and remains an ovary. if you mean the egg, it becomes a Zygote.
ovary
It would make sense if it were directly connected but it didn't evolve that way. The ovary has many eggs. The connection is not direct to the ovary and the oviduct has to "catch" the egg as it leaves the ovary. At times the egg is not "caught" but gets into the free space. If the egg becomes fertilized, the fetus can began to develop outside the uterus.
in the ovary
Yep. The Ovary protects the ovule. The Ovule is like the egg in animals and once fertilisation has taken place, it will become the seed. Also, after fertilisation, the Ovary becomes the fruit. Fruit is a container of seeds.

An egg cannot travel from the ovary to the anus. An egg, however, DOES travel from the ovary, to the fallopian tube, down into the uterus. If fertilized, the egg will implant in the uterine wall. If unfertilized, the egg will be discharged during the menstrual flow.
