It depends on the area you live in, local laws, and age of majority however, there are circumstances that also depend on this situation. If the individual is not known to be missing any length of time and a parent has reason to believe something may have happened then it can be reported, if the individual has any history of mental illness or on medications and missing then it can be reported - there are a variety of circumstances depending on situations.
