I have over 30 years experience in the pool industry. I have no idea what the previous answer is trying to say. The fact is, the liner is the same material but they are made to fit a specific size and type of pool. Above ground pools use liners that either lock into a bead around the pool or they overlap the wall. Inground pools only use liners that lock into a bead. Regardless, if the liner is not made to fit the pool you want to use it in, it can not be made to fit. So, the short answer is...no.

Yes as long as the above ground pool walls aren't rusted and all the parts are there its easily removed and relocated. You will need a new liner.

If you can get to it, remove the wire used to hold the cover on. Remove as much snow as you can, try to minimize the weight on your pool.

You can purchase a patch kit at any swimming pool retailer and use the same type of patch that is used for an above ground swimming pool liner - the kit is relatively inexpensive but it takes a while to seal but around the slash it should be clean as possible and the drier the better

Apparently you can I spoke to some one who did this as he was not interested in the hassle of having to remove an in ground pool later on when he got sick of it. The method he used was quite simple. He used a 5' deep above ground pool with powder coat zincalume surround. I forgot the dimensions of the pool but it was pretty big one. # Dig a hole to the depth required he had a fall in the land so he left the top rail of the pool about 4" / 100mm above the ground on the up hill side and ended up about a 1' / 300mm above the ground on the down hill side # make sure the hole floor is level and then cover it in about 4" / 100mm of washed river sand. # Build the pool inside the hole. # install necessary Plumbing. # Fill the pool. # After the pool is full of water back fill the gap between the pool and the ground with a 10 to 1 mix of sand cement. He told that this lasted him 20 years at which time the liner needed replacing when he took the old liner out he found that the rest of the pool was still in top condition.

What do you put under a small above ground pool to level it?
I just put up an above ground pool and we used sand to level the ground. To level the sand, we used one of those string levelers and tied it to stakes on each side of the pool area to make sure it was all level.

Finally, I drained the pool halfway down to try and patch some bigger areas, and when I pulled the liner away from the wall, the pool cove material was riddled with ant tracks around every area that was leaking. I don't know if it was termites from some nearby rotten firewood, or just ants making nests there, but they really trashed that liner.
