Hi, I was wondering if a Violet goby can live with the angels in our tank. I wasn't sure, because I don't know if angels can live in brackish, or how much of the brackish water they can take. Thanks in advance! Hamon
The Violet Gobi is a brackish water fish (almost marine), and the Kissing Gourami is a tropical fresh water fish. They each need completely different water conditions and parameters. The conditions that would suit one, would kill the other.
A dragonfish commonly known as a violet goby or dragon goby is a brackish water fish. Also, they are a very peaceful & shy fish and as such should not be housed with anything but other peaceful fish (mollies, guppies or platys)

10 to 12 years
Depends on how big it is.
The dragon goby is semi-aggressive, but mainly feeds by sifting organisms out of the mud. In general, like most fish, they will eat anything that fits in its mouth. A fancy goldfish can reach 10"-12" and a dragon goby can reach 24". It would seem that once the goldfish reached a large enough size, it would be safe. I would not put a 2" goldfish with a 24" goby.
