Check the basements of post offices, schools, and other public buildings in the area at the time. When I was growing up both the post office and the junior high school that I went to had fallout shelters in their basements. They may still have an old weathered "fallout shelter" sign outside. You will have to check yourself, old planning maps in the city archives may help.

For all practical purposes there are no nuclear bomb shelters in the US. However there are fallout shelters, thousands of them. But they won't help anyone if a bomb detonates over their city. They will only help those in untouched cities survive a few weeks to months until fallout decays to "safe" levels. However few will know how to find one, most of the signs were removed long ago and many had their food and water removed.

Has anyone beat the Fallout 3 game. completely?
I for one have beaten all the missions and got most of all the items in the game but I have yet to beat the WHOLE game. Search online for the fallout wiki and it will be a website called the vault and im sure they can give you the things you need to beat every part of the game. but yes im sure its been because there are many people dedicated to just playing fallout 3.
