Baby rabbits can live without a nest as long as it is warm enough. The nest is for warmth and protection, but sometimes if the cage is warm enough, like in summer or if the cage is inside, the mother rabbit will just make a little depression for her babies and not pull any fur to line it. If you want her to make a nest, give her some straw or hay and she will probably build one.

no A serious injury and trauma like getting the tail cut off could lead to death, yes. It's not the loss of the tail itself that is deadly, but rather the extreme pain and stress the rabbit will feel. A serious injury like this requires immediate veterinary attention.

As with most, if not all, four-legged mammals, rabbits have tails. Althought their tails are small.

Can a stingray live without its tail?

I have seen sting rays that have only half of a tail or a little less, but never no tail at all. Seeing that they can live with partial tails I would say yes they can live without a tail, but it would probably shorten their lives considerable when you think about how many things they use their tail for.

Anyway, he had to hide it from the cops inside prison. He told me that he had to protect that rabbit tail more than what the rabbit tail protected him.
