Can a bad mass air flow sensor suck more oil and gas and lock up the engine?

In most cases I have seen, the engine won't start, maybe make a backfire while attempting.
The engine wont idle when cold also may stop when you for additional Examples:
A.Engine Stops or runs rough when you at stop sign giving the appearance of running out of gas or plugged fuel filter.
B. Poor gas millage.
C. Check engine light may or may not come on.
D. Not changing air filter as needed can create the conditions.
This is all due to the sensor not detecting the volume of air correctly to be mixed with fuel. Can be a dirty sensor that is no longer unable to clean it self as it does so each time when you cut off car by heating the sensor element up to burn off contaminants. Special Mass air flow sensor cleaner required for this and how to instructions. Or bad sensor. Easy 15 min replacement job normally instruction in part box. Reasonable price can be up to $100.00 check several part stores as price can vary as much as $50.00 for complete component often a core $ charge you get back upon returning old broken part.

∙ 13y agoit will feel like a misfire but should not cause a single cylinder misfire code. a bad maf ( mass air flow ) would and can set random multiple misfire codes, lean bank 1 and 2 just like a clogged fuel filter or restricted exhaust ( cat )
