Maybe. Many factors are considered by insurance company underwriters in determining whether or not to accept a risk and the price (premium) to be charged. Many insurers do utilize credit reports to help assess and price a risk.//

It depends on the bankruptcy... In NJ, if it is a personal bankruptcy & didn't involve any breach in fiduciary responsibility or money of insurers or insureds then it will not prevent one from renewing or attaining an insurance license.

You can get insurance anytime you like. A violation like that won't prevent you from getting insurance simply because insurance is a business, and the main goal just like every other business is to make money.

You don't. If you are concerned about a dog in your neighborhood, it is better to try to prevent any possible injuries by calling the local dog warden. If you call the "homeowner insurance carrier", it is obvious that your only concern is in intervening in that homeowner's private insurance contract and that can get you into trouble and will not improve the safety in your neighborhood.

Bankruptcy will not prevent you from renewing your insurance license. When your license is renewed, one of the administrative action or sanction questions will cover bankruptcy and require you to answer "yes". This will immediately flag your renewal application to require legal documentation. After the renewal has been submitted, you or your compliance service provider will need to submit the proper legal documentation about the bankruptcy to the department(s) of insurance for review. Failure to supply the proper documentation can result in the rejection or expiration of the application resulting in license cancellation. The cancellation could then result in fines and administrative actions. Producers who receive administrative actions, fines, sanctions or file for bankruptcy are required to notify the departments of insurance in all states where they hold active licenses within 30 days. Failure to report these actions may result in further administrative actions including fines and license revocation.

No, lawsuits do not prevent a person from filing bankruptcy. The lawsuit will be stopped when the BK is filed and the debt or judgment can possibly be included in the filing. It is at the discretion of the trustee as to whether a BK or any portion of it is allowable according to bankruptcy law. The BK petitioner has the option of appealing any trustee ruling with which they disagree.
