As do all insects, they breathe through spiracles- a row of small holes on both sides of their abdomen. They do not have lungs like us. Instead, they have Accordion-like "book lungs" which sucks air in and out . You can see it in action if you catch a large insect like a grasshopper or cockroach. You will see the abdomen moving in and out very rapidly. That's the insect breathing. The flea does the same thing, but it's so tiny that you couldn't see it. Kinda cool, eh?
