Are you talking about the Ortho Evra Patch?

I don't think that it will change your period week, because you get your menstual cycle every 28 days. The patch/pills/shot help regulate your period so that it's more predictable, not as heavy, and not as long. For example, instead of starting on a Monday, it can start later or even earlier, but shouldn't be off by more than a week...

When do you start your birth control patch?

WHEN TO START If this is the first time you are using ORTHO EVRA, wait until the day you get your menstrual period. The day you apply your patch will be Day 1. Your "Patch Change Day" will be on this day every week. You may choose a "First Day Start" or a "Sunday Start" as defined below: First Day Start: Apply your first patch during the first 24 hours of your period, which will be considered your "Patch Change Day." If the Patch is not applied within the first 24 hours of your period, you must use back-up contraception, such as a condom, spermicide or a diaphragm, for the first week of patch use. Sunday Start: Apply your first patch on the first Sunday after your menstrual period starts

Bleeding with the patch on is a common side effect in the first three months of use. If you've used the patch as directed, there is no special cause for concern.

Is it a problem if you wore your patch on the fourth week and now you're on the 5th week but your period has not come yet?

Your period will not come until you remove the patch. It is not advisable to do this on a regular basis. Count the 4th week (where you should've removed the patch and didn't) as week one. You are therefore currently on week two. Continue for week three and remove the patch for the fourth week.

Could you be pregnant if you started spotting in the middle of the third week of your cycle and you had unprotected sex in the second week and didn't change your patch on the day you were supposed to?

I had unprotected sex three times in a row and didn't change the patch when I was supposed to and also had unprotected sex after I was supposed to change the patch and didn't get pregnant. I was on it for 3 months at that time. The spotting will turn into you period, at least mine did. Good luck It is possible. If your period doesn't come take a test. Even if it is negative use contraception next month. Be more careful next time.

What is the birth control patch?

The birth control patch is a combined hormonal birth control method. Instead of taking a pill, you apply a patch to the skin. The medication is absorbed by the skin, and you change the patch once a week for three weeks. On the fourth week, you wear no patch and have a withdrawal bleed, similar to a period. The next week, you start the cycle again. The effectiveness is comparable to the birth control pill, except that it's harder to make mistakes since the patient needs to do something weekly instead of daily.

Can the patch cause you period to happen after you just had a period and then the next week you bleed after intercourse and randomly?

Women may experience irregular bleeding and spotting during the first three months of use of combined hormonal contraception like the patch, pill, and ring. If it goes on longer than three months, or becomes troublesome, contact your health care provider.

Is it normal to begin your period 1 day after putting the patch on?

It's not unusual to have unscheduled bleeding in the first three months of use of the birth control patch. After that, bleeding with the patch on is unusual, but doesn't mean that the patch isn't working as long as you've been using it correctly. If this bleeding recurs, see your health care provider for an exam.
