They like night and day cycles and prefer subdued lighting or at least hiding places in an over lit tank.
They are not nocturnal fish so they wouldn't be comfortable in a constantly artificially darkened aquarium either.
A naturally lit room will provide sufficient light for them to be content.
My guess would be that the alpha test, on the beta fish, would have been a pretty good indicator based the empirical results. Would you not agree? No, they don't need darkness. They enjoy light alot ,though and I recommend you keep them near an open space. But not too close because bettas tend to jump! Another way to prevent jumping is to keep the water level down 5-6 inches. They even like to have a light on them when it's getting dark! Don't, however, keep them under direct sun light because it would be too much.
Betta fish like being in dark areas so yes they can see but they also like light areas as well
My betta fish prefers darknes i dont know about yours. Try puting him/her in the dark if he/she stays calm and swimms slowly it means that your betta likes
a fat betta fish
A betta fish is named after her for the dark colors. Betta Persephone
Yes they do. They get stressed out if they don't have a hiding place. plants or caves will do.no.
They look just like Big betta fish, but smaller.
Betta fish are usually multiple colors like turquoise on the tail fin and blue on the body and purple on the top fin. They can be one color like red and light red and dark red.
Female Betta fish can be fairly good community style fish and should be fine. Male Bettas would massacre the community.
it looks like they have a big bubble in their side
light
Betta are social fish. There is nothing wrong.
It is absolutely ok to have a lamp by the betta fish tank, just make sure its not on 24/7, as fish need dark and light periods to function normally.
The life cycle of a betta Fish goes like this: *They hatch *They live *They die
yes but do not pick fish that are soooo small like minnows because your betta will EAT HIM UP!
