yes they can but if you wish to breed you of coarse need a female and a male the same size. then get seprate bowls put them side by side and when the male has well it looks like soap suds at the top of the tank that covers 20% of the top of the bowl then the male is ready to mate and when the feamales belly gets big then you are ready to be put in at least a five gallon bowl to mate. with plenty of hiding spaces for the female to hide if the male is trying to hurt her. Sometimes they kill each other but in all animal breeding their is a risk. after the female lays her eggs take the male out right away. and leave the eggs with the female the rest of the breeding I dont know because I am only twelve and but I have never bred a beta before but I have had fish all my life I have a two year old male betta. Good luck!
spawning embrace
to make more bettas
Yes all bettas can mate with other bettas. " regular betta fish" there are different types and they can all breed together.
Yes how do you think the multicolored bettas came to be the fish are still bettas no matter the color they are.
the female will get fat then they will mate
They develop dark horizontal lines the length of their bodies.
About 4 months, perhaps even less. They usually stop breeding after a year.
i wouldn't recomend breeding bettasAnswerI would breed guppies first so you know what to do to breed bettas later on+ it takes a lot of money, space and time.
Unless the female is ready to mate, you should keep a divider between them.
yes, he can wait apx 16 days after first breeding
It's not about time of year but how good their water is and if both fish like each other.
Yes, crowntail females can mate with halfmoon males, and vice versa. Any type of betta can mate with any another type. Veiltails with halfmoons, deltas with crowntails, etc. But most people prefer to breed bettas with their own type because they plan to sell them, and most people don't want "mutts". They can also keep the coloration, finnage, and physical characeteristics of the betta type. It is much easier to sell these purebred bettas. If you planning on breeding the crowntail and halfmoon and selling, I highly suggest that you reconsider this. Get a two quality bettas (same type) from a good breeder. Enjoy your fish!
