No only oxygen can cause rust.

However CMA can make water a stronger acid and thereby make the corrosion process faster, as water is breaks into hydrogen and oxygen. these reacts with Iron and makes the rust.

So CMA cannot form rust but speeds up the process

Does calcium hydroxide cause rust?

No, calcium hydroxide does not cause rust. Rust is a specific type of corrosion that occurs on iron and its alloys, while calcium hydroxide is a chemical compound that does not react with iron in a way that causes rusting.

Why does magnesium rust fastest in salt water?

Magnesium does not rust, but it does corrode quickly in saltwater due to the formation of a protective layer of magnesium oxide on its surface. This layer can easily be broken down by the chloride ions in saltwater, accelerating the corrosion process compared to freshwater.

What mineral will not rust?

calcium

Does a magnesium metal strip rust when put in hydrochloric acid?

No, magnesium does not rust like iron does when exposed to acids. Instead, magnesium reacts with hydrochloric acid to form magnesium chloride and hydrogen gas, producing bubbles as a result of the chemical reaction.

Does metal rust when you put it in calcium chloride?

No, metal does not rust when placed in calcium chloride. This is because calcium chloride is a desiccant that absorbs moisture from the environment, preventing the formation of rust on the metal surface.

Will iron rust if its with calcium chloride?

The iron would not rust, because calcium chloride is a desiccant. For rusting to occur there are two vital components: water and oxygen. Since calcium chloride is a desiccant, it would absorb the water, so rusting would not occur.

Is CaO a metal or nonmetal?

Neither, calcium oxide is a compound, an oxide of calcium. Compounds cannot be classified as metals, nonmetals, or metalloids, as these are only properties of elements. You could consider it analogous to rust, but calcium's rust, instead of iron's rust.

Does calcium corrode?

yes

Does nail rust in anhydrous calcium chloride?

No, nail does not rust in anhydrous calcium chloride because rusting requires the presence of water to occur. Anhydrous calcium chloride is a desiccant that absorbs moisture from the surrounding environment, preventing the nail from coming into contact with water and thus inhibiting rust formation.

What is the chemical reaction between vinegar and rust?

When vinegar reacts with rust, a chemical reaction occurs where the acetic acid in vinegar breaks down the iron oxide in rust, forming iron acetate and water. This reaction helps to dissolve and remove the rust from the surface.

Do car magnets cause rust?

Car magnets doesn't cause rust.
