Always better to err on the safe side and keep the litter box out of reach. If you believe your dog has ingested a large amount of kitty litter you might want to contact your vet and observe your dog closely.

∙ 13y agoYes, it does have a high bacterial count. It can also cause other health problems, like the spread of parasites. It would be almost a sure bet to spread tapeworms if the cat happened to be infected. You should do everything possible to keep your animals from eating feces from any source.
