I believe rum can be frozen. The problem is that you need to achive the temperature of -40 degrees to freeze 80 proof liquor. If you do manage to freeze your rum I suggest that you do not drink it while it is thawing because it will burn your mout and throat.
I don't think it is supposed to because of the alcohol content. However, I purchased a Bacardi rum from a store in London and it froze s-o-l-i-d in my freezer...so I think I got scammed because there must be a lot of water in it to make it freeze.
