Yes. Most cheeses are high in salt and therefore raise your sodium intake considerably. If you have high BP and are trying to limit your intake, then only treat yourself to cheese occasionally - there are low salt varieties available these days.

Some cheeses (especially mature cheeses) contain Tyramine which is a substance that can significantly and rapidly raise blood pressure. (This is particularly important for people who may be taking the MAOI class of antidepressant drugs as they interact.)
