I would recommend MAC foundations and concealers because they give a lot of coverage. Drugstore brands just aren't gonna cut it.
I would also recommend going to sephora or ulta because they can help you find amazing concealers and make up that cover extremely well.

Bobbi Brown Corrector. It's usually used as a concealer for intense dark circles, but if you got a darker shade, it would work as an excellent cover-up. Apply with the double headed Essence of Beauty foundation brush (inexpensive and excellent quality, available at CVS) with the concealer side of the brush and blend with the other side. If the bruise is extremely dark, I suggest buffing or "patting" the concealer in with brush, not blending.
