No, if there is coolant in your valve cover it'll be mixed with oil. You blew your head gasket, possibly warped or cracked your head. It may look like coolant is leaking from your valve cover but it's your intake gasket leaking.
the signs of a valve cover leak are oil on the engine oil is the only thing that can leak from a leaky valve cover
No, only a blown head gasket or cracked head will cause coolant to mix with the oil. A leaking valve cover gasket will only cause oil to leak onto the engine block externally.
There SHOULD only be oil inside the valve covers. If they leak coolant you have a serious problem.
From engine compartment?- valve cover oil leak coolant leak-radiator/hoses from exhaust- black- too rich blue- burning oil white- blown headgasket, cracked head, engine is burning coolant
I would not expect a valve cover leak to cause a car to stall. A valve cover leak can fill the spark plug area with oil which can cause rough running.
No
Dear Honda owner, Valve cover leak? I assume you are refering to an external oil leak from the valve cover, replace the gasket, be sure the new gasket set comes with spark plug seals.
Assuming you mean "valve cover gasket", the gasket seals the valve cover to the head so as not to leak oil.
Spark plugs do not leak oil. What you have is a valve cover gasket leak. This allows oil to run down on the plugs. Try slightly tightening the valve cover bolts. It that does no help, replace the gasket.Spark plugs do not leak oil. What you have is a valve cover gasket leak. This allows oil to run down on the plugs. Mine is in the timing chain cover gasket. You can find your leak by pressure testing your coolant system.
Any internal coolant leak can cause a milky residue in the valve cover. Head gasket, intake gasket, cracked/warped head, cracked intake are possible causes.
The oil leak is coming from the valve cover gasket and leaking onto the exhaust manifold, the rubber valve cover gaskets get hard from the engine heat and start to leak, you will have to replace the rubber valve cover gaskets to stop the oil leak
