Dogs can pretty much eat anything. The real question is: WHY would you feed your dog egg shells? Note from omigodlucy; The reason I ask this question is because my uncle, who is a veterinarian, insists that egg shells provide an excellent (and free!) source of protein for dogs. My concern is that they might be dangerous, particularly for younger puppies, because they may be difficult to digest and/or the sharp edges may damage the dog's oesophagus. My apologies, I should have made my question a little more clear. Thank you for your response.
Whilst raw eggs contain a small risk of salmonella, and can cause sickness in dogs, a healthy dog can be fed raw eggs occasionally. Eggs are a good source of omega 3.
Yes my Mastiff eat a dozen shells like candy. For the calcium and magnesium im guessing.
yes they can - a raw egg with egg shell on just like in the wild!!!!!!! Just give them an egg perfect and easy! :-)
no.
Your dog can choke, and it can upset its stomach.
Do not feed your dog raw eggs for fear of salmonella. Cooked eggs in moderation are OK.
yes they can handle the enzymes in the yolk . just dont give it chocolate
Eggshell is the part of the egg that you peel off of the egg when you are going to eat or cook the egg.
