∙ 13y agoDogs eat horse manure to mask the scent of humans on their breath. If you want your dog to stop eating horse manure, you need to provide the dog with an alternative scent. Try mixing a spoon full of cod oil in with your dog's food. Make sure to provide the dog with plenty of water to keep it well hydrated, too.

∙ 13y agoNo, horse manure won't hurt your dog unless he eats a great deal, or there is wormer or other chemical in it. Dogs are drawn to the protein content of horse manure. It's icky, but not usually harmful.
