Lentils are very good for dogs, are very alkaline and do not cause gas. My Golden is allergic to many things so I buy dried lentils, soak, drain, re rinse and cook with a few cups of water. Then store in the fridge and add a few spoons to my dogs food twice a day when he eats. I heat them with a little added water and then add my dogs usual dry food (he eats Spots Stew dry).
