Candy (particularly chocolate, which is toxic to dogs, cats and ferrets, and any candy containing the sweetener Xylitol)
Coffee (grounds, beans, chocolate covered espresso beans)
Grapes
Macadamia nuts
Moldy foods
Mushroom plants
Onions and onion powder
Potato leaves and stems (green parts)
Raisins
Rhubarb leaves
Salt
Tomato leaves and stems (green parts)
Walnuts

One such disease toxocariasis can cause blindness, it is caused by eating a roundworm larvae found within both dogs and cats intestines and is spread in their fecal matter.
