Dogs have an endocrine system, right? Yes, they can produce chemicals in their bodies called Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that will get them high. Even slugs have the receptors in their bodies that can give this effect.

Um... you should probably not get a dog stoned until it reaches full development. So maybe if it's more than a year old then it's ok-unless it doesn't like it. You should never pet a dog when you're trippin' though, it can absorb chemicals from your skin.

Yes, it is bad to get a dog stoned.

In 2005, the ASPCA recorded 2 deaths from the ingestion of marijuana by dogs. (Admittedly, it's not common.) But you also have to remember that the effects of THC on a dog are significantly stronger than they are for a human. There is real physical danger to the animal.

Not to mention the fact that the dog didn't know it was going to get stoned. If you suddenly found yourself high, you'd think something was seriously wrong with you. The dog isn't capable of grasping that. It must feel like they're poisoned.

Friends don't let dogs do drugs.
