Don't believe so. Possibly MS, rheumatoid Arthritis or other muscular problem causing foot drop. I have recently been diagnosed with MS after years of muscular problems that were attributed to fibromyalgia. It was the podiatrist who first suspected MS because of my strange gait when walking and foot drop. Fibromyalgia is a relatively new and misunderstood condition so it's often difficult to know what problems are caused by fibromyalgia and what problems could be caused by something else. I personally put up with a whole host of problems because I assumed the doctors' would simply blame fibromyalgia and claim they could do nothing more to help. I would urge anyone not to think this way. If you are suffering in any way make an appointment with your GP; if you're still suffering after your appointment make a nuisance of yourself until they take you seriously. If you have foot drop... why? Ask your GP anddemand a referral if necessary. Good luck and good health x

The muscle that brings the foot up fails and so the foot drops The nerve can be temporarily injured = neuropraxia and therefore will recover. More extensive injuries to the nerve may or may not recover. A complete transection of the nerve is unlikely to recover without surgery So it depends on the cause and how extensive the injury to the nerve is
There is no known cause of Fibromyalgia. However, it has been found that Fibromyalgia often occurs after a major physical stressor like surgery or an accident. While it's not likely that leaving the clips in was the cause of itself, it is possible that the added stress on the body of both the surgery and then having the clips left in could have been the instigating factor for the Fibromyalgia.
