I don't know but I know a few of the harmful effects of eating while upset in women:
When you eat while you are upset, food becomes toxins in your organism.
These toxins reduce a hormone that makes menstruation happen.
It's like you didn't eat because you wont actually be able to get the nutrition from the food.
Inflammation of the uterus.
When you don't menstruate, changes occur to your body, slowing your methabolism and making it easier for you to gain weight.
Once you gain weight you could get other problems associated with it:
hypertension, obesity, deformation of your body, throwing your hormones out of wack, inducing more depression, Diabetes, joint damage, bunions or ankle deformation due to overweight, thyroid damage, etc etc etc.
it's possible that if you already are prone to certain conditions, eating while upset might over time cause maybe cancer... but I am not sure.
