I know 3 sisters whose hair changed to extremely curly when they entered adolescence. In one case it became actually nappy. Is this common?

Normally, once the process of entering the Church is started it can take anywhere from 6 months to 1 year. It can take more if the Priest or the person thinks more time is needed. Entering the Church is an extremely important event, and it should be not done lightly. But 6 months to 1 year is the average time span.
