Typically, most gecko species have poorer eye sight in comparison to their smell (with day geckos as an exception) An animal exposed to bleach for an extended period of time can developed breathing issues and if digested or exposed to their eyes, can result in death. If bleach is being used for cleaning purposes, try to stick to something less corrosive and natural. Water mixed with vinegar followed by a thorough rinsing can rid of hard water stains.
