They should be given fresh fruits and veggies. Broccoli is their favorite. Apples and bananas will sometimes get a nibble. They are mostly grain and cereal eaters. (oats, quinoa, seeds, etc...)

They can eat apple if it is dried..
My Gerbils get roughly a tablespoon worth of food a day, this is a mix of hamster food and bird seed. On top of that they get a couple of dried mealworms as treats.
Yes gerbils can eat cranberries. There are several treat sticks that include cranberries in it although these are dried so if you're going to feed your gerbil an undried cranberry make sure it's small.
Gerbils do eat the strawberries and other kinds of berries as well. If youre a pet owner giving your gerbil strawberries, you just need to make sure they are washed and dried and not given in excess.
A series of greens and vegetables including lettuce, cabbage, and some berries. I suggest you buy gerbil food at your local pet store. They also eat grasshoppers but buy them at the pet store because they could have pesticide on them. - GerbilExpert
