Yes, when people die they have a choice if they have been good in their lifetime they get a choice to stay on earth or crossover to heaven but if the person was evil most of their life they go strieght to hell. When a spirit or ghost stays on earth they usually are scared of crossing over or don't want to leave a loved one so they usually haunt were thay died and do anything to get peoples attention. ghosts usually look what they look like when they die usually, for example if they died from a fire smoke would probably come from the ghost. But when a ghost or spirit is ready they will go to heaven if they believe that is the right choice and i know this because ic an see ghosts and talk to them. Nobody believes me but i sware on my own soal i can talk to ghosts and i hope this has answered your question.

Assuming that you believe that ghosts exist, it would be logical to think that a ghost who had believed a cross would repel ghosts in life would believe this in its afterlife and therefore be repelled. However, if the ghost did not have any such associations with crosses in life, why would it fear a cross in the afterlife?
