yes. you can pan for gold with a special pan. you will get dust and a possible nugget. the trick is finding the source where the dust is washing into the river. that will be a gold mine when you dig it out. why WOULDN'T you find gold in rivers?!
Absolutely! the most common type found are called dust. Tiny sand like particles or grains. You also have flakes which look like corn flakes, but not usually that big. Then you nuggets which have been found as large as baseballs. Most nuggets are the size of peas and up, but are solid and heavier than flakes.
