Provided the tank is not too small. Remember the basic rules. :- 1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water. :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs at least 50% of its water changed every week. Keep the above rules and your fish stand a chance. Fail in any of them and I can guarantee that you will have constant health problems with your fish.
this might work, but put in 2 more guppies before you put in the betta. this will not work with a male betta.

if female beta fish are put together they would start to fight like the males.
mating a male and female beta is simple, but you cannot just put a male and female together expecting them to mate.it depends on how agresive your beta is.if you do not introduce them correctly the male will most likely kill the female. you will know he is ready to mate when he blows a bubble nest.
get the female beta time to adjust to the new food
They can not go with there own kind but do well with guppies and larger fish...
The Greek small letter for Beta is β.
Beta fish don't get along with other fishes, they will attack any fish that they see as a threat. If you buy a female and a male beta DO NOT put them together.
No fish like small aquariums unless they are beta fish because they are use to the environment, although there are some breeds that can adapt to the change better. Generally small, docile fish such as neons, danios (especially), tertra's, small mollies, or balloon mollies, plattys and guppies.
The reason two beta fish cannot be together is because they are very solitary and aggresive fish. They like to have space to themselves. If you put two male beta fish together, they will fight each other to death. Usually, it is okay to put a male and female beta together, but definitly NOT two males. Hope this helps! You cant the male would kill the female unless you have already a female then the female would kill the male
The female beta fish is usually plain in color, while the male is typically very colorful.
