check that the thermostat was not put in upside down. also check radiator cap pressure
It is possible that the heads on your catylitic converter are corroded, if they are you can simply use a file to file away the corrosion. That will solve your stalling problem, granted that is the problem.
Possibly the new thermostat is bad...........don't laugh it can happen. I'm not sure if you could have installed it upside down. Sometimes that is possible but I am not familiar with your specific engine application.
it sounds like the oxygen sensor is going bad. it is located in the exhaust and you will find a wire that should plug into it. it should be just under the exhaust manifold.
