Think of a hosepipe that has lots of holes in it. These are your "leaky" capillaries.
You put the pipe on low (low pressure) on your lawn, the water trickles out of the holes and gets sucked up into the grass.
Turn it up onto max (high pressure), the water floods the grass and turns it waterlogged, so much so that the water doesn't get absorbed into the soil so it just sits on top of the grass.
That is the link between hypertension and oedema!
