Yes they can produce twins, however, births of viable twins are actually quite rare about 4% of twin births result in 2 viable foals.
Most mares in foal with twins will have one viable foal, or they will abort both twins because the two placentas will not support foals once they get to a certain size.
Often, if there is a large difference in placentation between the two fetuses the smaller fetus will die and either mummify or decay. Mummification of one fetus will
often allow the other fetus to develop to term.
The production of identical twins is much rarer still.
Mom horses can have twins but... it is very rare
Horses typically have only one foal per pregnancy, but they can have multiple pregnancies (about 1 per year... they are pregnant for 11 months). There have been cases where horses have had twins but the foals usually do not survive because they are underdeveloped. Twins may also be detrimental to the dam.
Identical twins. Although horses sometimes have twins I'm not sure if they have identical twins.
Sometimes, horses have twins. However, there is a small chance and an even smaller chance that both foals (baby horses), will survive. It also increases the small chance that your mare will not make it through the birthing stage.
Horses usually produce only one live foal with occasional instances where two live twins are born. Twin pregnancies in horses can be very problematic and while draft horses (like the Clydesdale) and Standardbred horses seem to be more successful at producing live twins they may require significant veterinary care in order to survive.
Yes, horses can have twins, but it is not very common.
Horses normally only give birth to one foal at a time. It is actually pretty rare for a mare to have twins.
Horses only have one Foal. It is rare for both twins to surive
baby horses survive by staying by their mother and making sure they get the appropriate amount of nutrients from the mother's milk.
Horses survive on temperatures related to water conditions
Horses don't have litters, they have one foal or in extremely rare cases, twins.
