What combination of any substance with oxygen know as?
Does iron bond with oxygen?
Yes, and the product is common rust. When iron is exposed to oxygen, it combines with it to form iron oxides, the most common of which is red iron (III) oxide, Fe2O3. This is the corrosion present on any iron object you see. The other commonly encountered form is black iron (II, III) oxide, Fe3O4, better known as magnetite.

What is an oxidized element?
An "Oxidised Element" is any element that has reacted with Oxygen to form a compound. The compound suffixes of these compounds will be "Oxide, Monoxide, Dioxide, Trioxide" etc. Some examples of oxidised elements: Iron + Oxygen --> Iron Oxide Carbon + Oxygen --> Carbon Dioxide Magnesium + Oxygen --> Magnesium Oxide
