I'm sure it can ... but what is it?
how do you remove the engine? Is it pulled from the top or do you unbolt the sub frame and slide it out from under the car?
the thermostat for this engine is located at the top front of the engine under the elbo that conects the hose to the top tank
From the top side you would remove the top bolt. From under the car, remove the bottom two bolts and disconnect the wires.

Two bolts mount the starter. Both are on the driver side of the engine. One is on top. The other is below. The top one can be reached from the front of the car through the engine hood area. The bottom ...from the bottom. It is best to use a pair of drive up ramps for clearance and safety under the car. Be sure to disconnect the batt cables before disconnecting the starter cables.

The thermostat for a 1984 Lincoln Town Car is under the top hose inlet. The inlet is bolted to the top of the engine and is easy to remove.

If you follow the top radiator hose from the radiator you will see where it connects to the engine cooling thermostat housing on top of the engine intake manifold . The engine cooling thermostat is under the thermostat housing
