Tap water has a boiling point in any given conditions. You cannot alter the boiling point. You can alter the temperature at which it boils, by changing the ambient pressure for instance.

A characteristic for the boiling point is that the substance start changing state.

Why is an accidental fire a limited problem when oxyfuel welding magnesium?

The joining of magnesium alloys by torch welding or brazing is possible without a fire hazard because the melting point of magnesium is 1202*F to 858*F below its boiling point, where magnesium may start to burn.

When does water start to evaporate when its boiling?

The boiling point of water at 760 mmHg is 100 oC.

When does Boiling temperature Start?

The Boiling Point Temperature is 212 degrees Fahrenheit and 100 degrees Celsius

How is boiling point used in chemistry?

If you know a boiling point, you can separate two different liquids that are mixed together. If the two liquids have different boiling points, you can boil them both. One of the liquids will reach its boiling point before the other liquid and start to evaporate. One of the liquids will have evaporated and will be separated from the liquid with the higher boiling point. This is called distillation. Jarachia ~ x

What is boiling point in science?

during boiling, the temperature of a mixture is different at different times. during boiling, the temperature of a substance changes at the start then it becomes the same and constant.

Can pepper raise the water's boiling point?

No, pepper cannot. But salt can. Just put it at the bottom of the pot and boil whatever you need. It will start boiling the water quicker

Is it fesible to separate two liquids boiling points less than 5 degrees?

Yes. It's the principle on which fractional distillation works. As you heat the mixture, it will first start to boil at the lower of the two liquids boiling points, and that liquid will boil off while the temperature of the mixture will remain constant. After the first liquid is boiled off, the temperature of the remaining fluid will then start to rise till it reaches it's boiling point. The second liquid will then start to boil.

How warm does it have to be for urine to turn into gas?

Urine is not a pure substance and doesn't have a clearly defined boiling point, but it would probably start boiling a few kelvins over 373K.

How would you know that the boiling rocks boil at same teperature each time?

By measuring the temperature of the rocks, and recording what temperature they are at when they start boiling. Also, through the years of chemistry, we've determined that each substance has properties that never change, such as boiling point, and melting point. Ice for instance melts into water above 32 F, or 0 C and boils at 212 F or 100 C. Below this range, water is a solid, (ice) and under normal conditions water will not heat above this range. The boiling point is the point at which as much energy is being put into it, the same amount will be released through boiling. The same can be said for the minerals that make up rocks, (except that the melting and boiling points on rocks is much hotter) Some conditions can change the boiling point of a substance. High pressure means a higher temperature will be needed to cause boiling (this is how a pressure cooker works) Low pressure will need a lower temperature to reach boiling.

What temperature should a cup of tea be before you drink it?

It may be a matter of personal choice, however as hot as you can manage is a good place to start. So the temperature would be sufficiently below boiling point of water and pleasant
